Neither the Pope Francis nor Elon Musk are what you'd call diehard patriotic nationalists, but they're both
dead right on this one.
Note the strength of their language:
Francis called having pets instead of children "another phenomenon of cultural degradation", while Musk said low birthrates were "one of the biggest risks to civilization."
Unmentioned, of course, is that the real problem isn't low birthrates among Africans— it's low birthrates among the world's whites.
Maybe we could get a jump on this situation by banning all Facebook references to "furbabies" and bumper stickers that says "my grandchildren have paws."
