Despite the decline in illegal immigration, its efect on certain minority groups remains a point of contention. Host Michel Martin discusses the issue with writer Cord Jefferson and Vanderbilt University law professor Carol Swain. Jefferson recently wrote an article titled `How Illegal Immigration Hurts Black America` for the online magazine theRoot.com.

Carol Swain points out that legal H-2B guestworkers are just as bad for black, (and low-skilled white) workers as illegals. Cord Jefferson has been concentrating more on illegals, because they`re more exploitable.
