The top newspaper in our capital city, the Washington Post, is mouthpiecing a Refugee Industry campaign to convince Congress to welcome thousands of Syrians fleeing their civil war. But you can bet they won’t be resettled in Georgetown.

On April 4, WaPo front-paged the suffering Syrians story, with kiddie photos prominent, blatantly written to manipulate emotions:

Clutching a vase of red roses, he scoured the outdoor tables for a soft­hearted target. Spotting two women deep in conversation, the round-faced boy sidled up and broke into a wide smile, but was motioned away with a sharp shake of the head.

Mohammed, shivering in an orange T-shirt, repeated the steps with other potential customers until he had sold all 10 of his flowers. A beating from his mother awaits him if he doesn’t sell out, he says, so he often roams the streets until 3 a.m.

These articles follow a front-page spreadon December 3, 2013 featuring an injured seven-year-old girl:

America’s Cultural Marxist Left hates Conservatism Inc. and regularly claims that is racist, sexist, etc. Significantly, however, Conservatism Inc. doesn’t fight back by denouncing Political Correctness as such—instead, it merely seeks to show the criticism is hypocritical, which only ends up strengthening the Left by conceding the validity of the original charge. You can call this reverse political jujitsu “pulling a Williamson” —after National Review’s Kevin D. Williamson, who has made a specialty of it.

Look at the most recent result of a half century of standing athwart history crying “retreat!”: the auto-da-fé of tech innovator Brendan Eich. Eich was forced to step down as the CEO of Mozilla, because he donated $1,000 to California’s anti-gay marriage Proposition 8 in 2008. [Brendan Eich resigns as Mozilla Corporation CEO, by Sam Machkovech, ArsTechnica, April 3, 2014] Prop. 8 won, but, as our ruling class allows no input from the American people on important issues, was subsequently blocked by Judge Stephen Reinhardt, an appointee of Jimmy Carter (“history’s greatest monster”—The Simpsons.) It survives as the “H8” “anti-hate” motif on Leftist Tumblrs, blogs, and social networking sites

Of course, Barack Obama said marriage was between a “man and a woman” in 2004 and his position on the issue was still “evolving” as late as the 2012 campaign. But the goalposts of “social justice” are ever shifting, and many in the Main Stream Media hailed the destruction of yet another Enemy of the People. Still, Andrew Sullivan, who has fought for gay marriage for decades, did capture the reaction of many moderates when he says “if this is the gay rights movement today… then count me out.” [The Hounding of a Heretic, The Dish, April 3, 2014]

This was a hanging curve for the Beltway Right—and, tellingly, Williamson missed it. [The Liberal Gulag, National Review, April 6, 2014].

He started predictably, criticizing “so-called progressives” for their desire to criminalize dissent, recalling not just L’Affaire Eich, but Gawker contributor Adam Weinstein’s call to criminalize global-warming “deniers,” and the recent exclusion of conservative reporter Katherine Timpf from a feminist conference. “Welcome to the liberal gulag,” he wrote.

But falling back on the strained charge of “liberal fascism” misses the point. Of course the Left doesn’t believe in free speech, has grown intellectual lazy, and its driving force is “[protecting] their intellects, such as they are, from the discomfort of contact with nonconformist ideas.” But what Williamson, Goldberg, and other Conservatism Inc. publicists don’t get: the Left’s ideology is perfectly consistent by their own standards.

And, more importantly, Conservatism Inc. does the exact same thing that it decries in liberals—just with a delay of a few years.

For example, Williamson is disingenuous when he writes that Charles Murray was “denounced as a ‘known white supremacist’ by Texas Democrats” for holding heterodox views on education policy” and earning the ire of the Southern Poverty Law Center. [Candidate for Texas Governor Invokes Man Who Believes Women and Minorities Are Inferior, by Laura Basset, Huffington Post, April 1, 2014] Actually, Murray was denounced for believing in the reality of IQ differences among different groups. His “heterodox views on education policy” are much the same as Robert Weissberg’s—whom National Review purged! Editor Rich Lowry even thanked the Leftists who alerted him to Weissberg’s heresy.

Similarly, Williamson says “the Left is coming around—again—on hating Jews, even if Occupy rituals have replaced the traditional pseudo-Roman salute.” [Links in original].

Zeituni Onyango, President Obama's illegal alien aunt, died this week of cancer and other complications. I hope she rests in peace. America, however, should be up in arms.

Auntie Zeituni is an enduring symbol of all that is wrong with this country's immigration "policy"—or rather, its complete lack of a coherent, enforceable system of laws and rules that puts the national interest first. She was a beneficiary of the welfare state run amok, enabled by bipartisan fecklessness. To the bitter end, she bit the hand that fed her with predictable ingratitude and metastatic entitlement.

Zeituni's 14-year illegal overstay is a reminder that our temporary visa program is an abysmal joke. Like millions of foreign students, business people and tourists to this country, Auntie Zeituni obtained a short-term visitor visa in 2000. It had an expiration date. She was supposed to go back to Kenya in two years after traveling here with her son, who had been accepted at a college in Boston.

But like millions of other "temporary" visa overstayers, Auntie Zeituni never went home. And despite billions spent on homeland security and immigration enforcement, no one ever went looking for her to kick her out of the country after her time was up.

Auntie Zeituni had no job skills, no special talent, no compelling reason to keep her here in America as an asset to our culture or our economy. She didn't value the American Dream. She was a dependency nightmare. She collected $700 a month in welfare benefits and disability payments totaling $51,000. Somehow, Auntie Zeituni also drummed up money to apply for asylum and finagled her way into both federal and state public housing in Boston.

She contributed nothing to this country. The only "work" she did was gaming the system, complaining about her lot and blaming everyone else for her problems while they subsidized her 14-year illegal overstay.

Auntie Zeituni's ridiculous asylum application and what happened afterward are reminders that our asylum and deportation systems are appalling jokes. Auntie Zeituni's bogus request was rejected by the immigration court system. A judge ordered her to return to Kenya in 2003. She appealed. She lost. A judge again ordered her to leave in 2004.

But Auntie Zeituni never went home. Like an estimated 700,000 other deportation absconders, she evaded the judicial order for nearly a half-dozen years and continued to feed

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged as an adult with the senseless murder of a 24-year-old newlywed and father-to-be while he was taking a walk last week in Indiana.

Simeon Adams was found hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his neck only hours after the fatal shooting of Nathan Trapuzzano on April 1, according to Indianapolis police.

The software engineer who was expecting his first child next month was taking a morning walk just before 6 a.m. when Adams allegedly shot him twice in a suspected robbery.

Think about this: Indianapolis has seen another rash of homicides this year, the vast majority of them tied to guns….This city should be waging a war against the illegal possession of guns; instead, we get relative silence.

Speaking of crime, what I would do for an elected leader in this community to lead an honest conversation about what it truly will take to address the problem. We need hundreds of new police officers, as well as a substantial upgrade in prisoner re-entry programs, and both will cost dollars. Big dollars.

It’s worth it. But our top leaders need to make that sale, and they need to be willing to talk about spending and taxes regardless of the political consequences.

Actually, what Indianapolis needs is an “honest conversation” about race. But it’s not going to happen, despite (or perhaps because of) the fact that it’s one of the very few big cities to have a Republican Mayor (Greg Ballard, Message him on Twitter).

Unmentioned in either MSM story: of course, the victim was white. Of course, the alleged perp was black.

The backstory here: despite its Middle American image, Indianapolis is suffering increasing white flight. The European-American population has dropped from 76 percent in 1990 to 58 percent today.  

Significantly, Indianapolis this year is home to two conferences: both the National Rifle Association, April 25-27—and an annual Indiana Black Expo. July 10-20.  The city government has apparently been refusing to advertise the NRA conference—but it is celebrating the Black Expo from the highest levels. 

Needless to say, the city government is also far more involved in the Black Expo in another way—providing massive amounts of security and a huge propaganda campaign aimed at preventing attendees from killing each other. 

Also needless to say, despite the Main Stream Media’s loathing for guns and (more importantly) for gun owners, there seem to be absolutely no security concerns over the NRA conference, which bring an estimated 70,000 gun enthusiasts to the city. But—

Visit Indy, the city's tourism arm, normally, promotes its convention bookings. But it has yet to publicize the NRA gathering—an event that has sparked public protests, tight police security and calls to go elsewhere.

Almost three years after I wrote Obama Regime's Administrative Amnesty: Impeachment Is The Only Answer, the issue of White House lawlessness is finally, half-heartedly, being noticed in Congress:

• House Speaker John Boehner has just blamed it for his inability to get “immigration reform” a.k.a. the Amnesty/ Immigration Surge past his own caucus:

Obama has been pressured by Democrats to use executive powers to slow deportations and make de facto reforms to immigration, something Boehner warned would derail any efforts entirely.

“That will make it almost impossible to ever do immigration reform, because he will spoil the well to the point where no one will trust him by giving him a new law that he will implement the way the Congress intended,” Boehner said.

(This of course raises the question of just why Boehner wants to “do immigration reform” and destroy his party, and his country.)

• Attorney General Eric (“My People”) Holder has just shocked House Republicans with his arrogant defense of the Regime’s unprecedented interpretation of “prosecutorial discretion,” under which it has essentially abandoned deportation: Holder claims 'vast amount' of discretion in enforcing federal laws, by Benjamin Goad, The Hill, April 8, 2014.
  
  

So Amnesty may not pass—but the Obama Regime plans to implement it anyway. And it looks like this was the plan all along.

The Regime’s Administrative Amnesty has been ignored (or secretly supported) by treacherous Republicans.

And anti-white, anti-American groups have also received promises from their Minority Occupation Government that the Regime will act within three months if there is no bill on the President’s desk. The Regime is also trumpeting a review of deportation policy. [Obama orders review of US deportation practices Associated Press, March 13, 2014] This review apparently includes ending all actions against aliens who violated deportation orders and even against those who were deported but infiltrated again later. This would effectively end immigration enforcement in the United States…except for aliens with especially blatant criminal convictions.

But never fear—even criminals are preferable to Americans in the eyes of the Regime. An Amnesty is already under way for them too.

It is becoming clear that the Regime’s plan has been more deliberate, detailed, and comprehensive than previously imagined. Step by step, the Regime is seeing what it can get away with.

Initially, it was the Main Stream Media’s pet “DREAMers” who just

 There’s been a dramatic turnaround for the Romeike family, the German homeschoolers the Obama/Holder Administration was fighting to deport. The Supreme Court refused to hear their case on March 3. So it looked like the end.  But the very next day, the Department of Homeland Security granted the family “indefinite deferred-action status.”

Why did the Obama Regime, after going out of its way to deport the Romeikes, suddenly let them stay? And what are the ramifications?

It may have been due to public outrage. Critics of the Romeikes’ treatment embarrassingly contrasted it with the millions of illegal aliens being coddled by the Administration.

In fact, Obama may see this decision as facilitating his drive for illegal alien Amnesty. He employed a unilateral Administrative Amnesty for the Romeikes—just as he has done for many illegal aliens.

Tellingly, even Michael Farris, founder and chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association [HSLDA], the group that defended the Romeikes, doubts it was a great victory for homeschooling. In fact, he sees it as containing the seeds for a future move against American homeschoolers. He writes:

Other than the Romeike family themselves, no one could have been more thrilled than me with the sudden reversal from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) which allowed them to remain in the United States…[But] this administrative victory needs to be understood for what it is. It is a victory for the Romeike family alone. No other German homeschooling family can benefit from the administrative grace that was shown in this one instance.

Farris’ concern:

If our government contends that Germany did not violate the principles of religious freedom when it banned homeschooling in order to gain philosophical control over children, then it implies that it would not violate religious freedom or parental rights if the United States decided to ban homeschooling for the same purpose. After all, we would simply be promoting tolerance and pluralism. That is the subtle but dangerous message buried in the Romeike decision.

[Dangerous Policy Lurks Behind Romeike Triumph [by Michael Farris, HSLDA, March 11, 2014]

I strongly support homeschooling. But, just a few decades ago, American officials had about the same attitude toward homeschoolers as German officials do today. The HSLDA, to its great credit, did much to improve the legal standing of American homeschoolers.

What really bothered Americans about the Romeike case: the fact that the Obama Administration was going after a family of white homeschoolers, who had already been granted asylum, while simultaneously working to Amnesty millions of illegal aliens.

Personally, I support a shutdown of illegal and legal immigration. I don’t think we need immigrants. I don’t believe we are obligated to take in everybody in the world who has a problem in his home country.

But if, for some reason,

Payrolls expanded by 192,000 positions in March, beating the average for the miserable winter months, but still short of the rebound that many were expecting. With an average of about 90,000 legal immigrants entering the country each month, only 100,000 of this gain may be available for native-born Americans.

The math is depressing. In March more than 9 million native-born Americans were unemployed. At the current rate of job creation it will be 7.5 years before all these native-born unemployed find jobs. By then, of course, the population will be larger. And we haven’t even considered the millions who have avoided unemployment by dropping out of the labor force.

More depressing still: the absence of any MSM chatter regarding the unemployment-busting potential of an immigration moratorium.

One good March sign: the labor force participation rate (LPR) picked up slightly, suggesting that workers are being lured back into the job hunt as hiring expands. Even this positive may pertain to foreign-born workers only, however. As we point out below, over the past 12 months participation rates for native-born workers have declined. Only immigrants have a higher LPR this March than last.

The Household Employment Survey—the only report where immigrant and native-born American employment figures are broken out separately—found a robust 476,000 jobs were added last month. Our analysis indicates that native-born American workers gained jobs at virtually the same rate as immigrants.

In March:

• Total  employment rose by 476,000, or by 0.33%
• Native-born employment rose by 402,000 or by 0.33%
• Foreign-born employment rose by 74,000, or by 0.31%

So native-worker displacement was on hiatus in March. As a result, our New VDARE.com American Worker Displacement Index (NVDAWDI) remained at its February level—109.4. But the displacement of native-born American workers by immigrants during the Obama years is still painfully evident in the NVDAWDI graphic:

“White privilege” dominates everything in Wisconsin—even basketball.

Heavily-white Wisconsin is the unlikely center of anti-white political organizing in the United States, recently hosting the fifteenth annual “White Privilege Conference” in Madison. The conference, subsidized by taxpayer dollars, featured illuminating lectures (by whites) that informed European-Americans they were like “alcoholics” who could never be cured of racism, and if they didn’t want to work for “equity,” to “get the f*** out of education.” [Teacher ‘White Privilege Conference’: Whites Are Never Cured of Racism, by Warner Todd Hudson, Breitbart, April 1, 2014]

Of course, all this breast-beating by whites doesn’t seem to actually have much of an impact on African-American youth in Wisconsin. The state was recently declared the worst in the nation in “child well-being” for black children, with particularly glaring “black-white discrepancies in and around Madison, the relatively progressive and prosperous capital city.” [Study’s Low Marks on Youth Well-Being Stir States, by David Carry, Associated Press, April 1, 2014] (Needless to say, the responsibility of blacks for their own children went unmentioned).

At the same time, the University of Wisconsin’s NCAA Men’s Basketball Team has advanced to the Final Four. Paradoxiically, the Badgers are overwhelmingly white, starting four white players out of five. Main Stream Media treatment of white athletes, especially in basketball, has rcently assumed the historic American nation’s presence in the sport they invented is a freak occurrence.

Part of this is a writing stereotype that demeans the athleticism of whites. A typical article will say the team “thrives on fundamentals.” [Wisconsin thrives on fundamentals, by Drew Davison, Star-Telegram, March 28, 2014]

The MSM’s amazed reaction to the Badgers reflects the conventional wisdom (and bigotry) that whites simply can’t compete on the court. In this area, reporters feel free to make blanket statements about the collective athletic abilities of entire races.

This ten years ago, Boston Globe reporter and ESPN contributor Bob Ryan said the Vanderbilt Commodores were “too white” to win (even though the team started three black players). [Tournament notebook: Ryan says Vandy is “too white,” The Seattle Times, March 19, 2004]

In fairness, though, stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason. And basketball players and coaches largely agree that basketball belongs to blacks. Thus white professional star Larry Bird said: “It is a black man's game, and it will be forever.” [“Bird: NBA a ‘black man’s game,”ESPN, June 10, 2004]

Even as far back as 1977, Jerry West, the white athlete that the professional NBA logo is based on, said:

When I first came into the league [in 1960], it was just starting to turn into a black league. And let’s face it. This is a black league now.

For a team of overwhelmingly white players to compete for the NCAA Championship is a  rarity:  

Recruiting numbers spell it out in black and white: Since the 2000 tournament, 34 of 40 Final Four teams played consistently with no more than one white starter during that particular year. The 2003 Syracuse team, with white starters Gerry McNamara and Craig Forth, was the only one to win a championship.

The last championship team to rely on at least three white starters was Duke in 1991, its first of back-to-back championships thanks to Bobby Hurley, Christian Laettner and Billy McCaffrey, who started most of that season.

While (white) sports commentator Dick Vitale thinks the idea of race’s relevance in sports is “garbage,” players don’t seem to agree. The University of Arizona team, who fell to Wisconsin,
