A Santorum slip of the tongue, via Talking Points Memo:
““What what Gov. Perry has done is he provided in-state tuition for illegal immigrants, maybe that was an attempt to attract illegal vote — I mean Latino — voters,” Santorum said.
“You attract Latino voters by talking about the importance of immigration in this country,” Santorum said. “We are a melting pot, not a salad bowl, and we need to continue that tradition.”

This is already getting Santorum grief on Twitter for insensitivity. Of course, Santorum didn`t really think that Republicans could attract illegal voters. It`s stupid for GOP candidates to be trying to attract Latino voters, who are over 60 percent Democratic. Illegal voters are close to 100 percent Democratic.
