As Affirmative Action-Eligible as We Wish to Be

See, I Was Right

I recently noted that I'm convinced -- deep down, on an infra-rational level -- that anybody with more energy than me is obviously bipolar and is this close to snapping.
From the NYT:

A co-founder of Invisible Children, the nonprofit organization whose video “Kony 2012” has become an Internet sensation, was detained by the San D

Dharun Ravi vs. Taylor Clementi: "Immigrant Convicted Of Hate Crime"?

As of 7:07 pm, Google shows 2,046 "related items" to its lead story about the conviction of Dharun Ravi (now only 20) for "invasion of privacy" and "anti-gay intimidation" that supposedly provoked the suicide of Taylor Clementi, although through legal legedermain the prosecutors did not actually have to prove this: Dharun Ravi Trial: The Breakdo

New Orleans Gets Alabama Alien Discharge

Attention! States with neighbors that have their own tough immigration laws: you will be stuck with the illegal alien fleebies if you are seen as a doormat.

Sharia Invaders in Belgium Declare Their Intentions

In Brussels, the capital of Europe, hostile Muslims are pleased with their progress in implementing totalitarian misogynous sharia law. They got a foothold via immigration and use their polygamous families producing mass quantities of children as a force multiplier of population. Dale Hurd of CBN was on the spot asking tough questions of fundies who plan on Muslim Belgistan in the near future — and got undisguised answers about intent.

Very Reasonable Democrat Surfaces In HuffPost/Rosensaft Comment Thread!

The Huffington Post’s comment thread attached to Menachem Rosensaft’s ethnocentric attack on Peter Brimelow and VDARE.com is over 700 posts long and keeps growing. Many thanks to our friends who rose to our defense.

Today's Young People

For awhile, I've been kicking around the idea that youth are getting more authoritarian or militaristic or something like that. For example, last summer I wrote in my Taki's Magazine review of the pretty good Transformers 3 movie that was #2 at the American box office last year:

The Transformers movies celebrate American imperial muscle.

Ruth Barcan Marcus, RIP

The flip side of my inability not to notice patterns is that I'm impressed by individuals who don't fit the patterns. Here's part of an obituary from the NYT of the lady with four children who was a heavyweight in mid-20th Century logic, going head to head with famous philosophers like Quine and Carnap.

I Think They Are Trying To Tell Us Something

You know how when you go visit somebody and after awhile your host starts mentioning how early he has to get up in the morning, and then yawning right in your face, and finally you figure it out and say, "I gotta go home now"?
Well, America doesn't seem to be getting the hint in Afghanistan.

Bravely Confronting Hateful Protests...That The Media Refused To Cover

Recently, there were protests in U.S. state capitols over the murders of white South African farmers.  Coverage was scarce, but here's one example:

Two officers injured, three arrested as protesters clash near state Capitol, Sacramento Bee, February 28, 2012

In Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, whatever protest there was wasn't covered by the press.

Deluxe Detention Center Opens in Texas

Last year the federal government announced its plans for deluxe detention facilities for invasive foreigners (see Coming Soon from Obama: Illegal Alien Detention Centers with Continental Breakfasts).

What KIND Of American Sergeant Is Being Held In Afghan Shootings?

In Afghanistan, an American Army sergeant apparently shot a number of Afghan civilians in one of these mass murder shootings, similar to the Virginia Tech Massacre, or what we’ve been calling “Immigrant Mass Murder Syndrome.” [Army sergeant kills 16 Afghan villagers, AP, March 12, 2012] It might more properly be compared to the My Lai killings, or <</p>

Matthew Yglesias's "The Rent Is Too Damn High"

From my review in Taki's Magazine:

On May 14, 2011, Matthew Yglesias, a prominent Washington, DC liberal blogger and proponent of urban living, was walking home alone after a dinner with fellow pundits when he became the victim of an apparent anti-white racial

Best Wishes To John Derbyshire

In the first half of last year, the Derb mentioned that he'd been diagnosed with a form of lymphatic cancer. Now, he's started chemotherapy, as he writes in Taki's Magazine in Life at Half-Speed.

Best wishes, John.
