Charlottesville Unite The Right organizer Jason Kessler, who has written for VDARE.com, sent out a stinging tweet after last night's remarkable torchlight procession:

"In my 47 years of association with @UVA, this was the most nauseating thing I've ever seen. We need an exorcism on the Lawn," Larry Sabato, director of the University of Virginia Center for Politics tweeted.

If Sabato [Email him]  has been at University of Virginia since 1970, he must have witnessed (and probably participated in, he's been a Democrat hack since the age of 15) the anti-Vietnam War protests that not only gave aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war but were also substantially run by and for Communists and other assorted Marxists, something that was absolutely obvious to anyone who saw their banners at at the time. (The MSM's systematic suppression of this embarrassing detail caused Edith Efron to argue that the hard Left was actually being discriminated against in her 1971 media expose The New Twisters.)[PDF]

Maybe this is a Baby Boomer quarrel (Sabato is slightly younger than I am), buried but forever bitter. However, a quick Google search reveals that Sabato was apparently not nauseated by, and in fact never mentioned, the suppression of the impeccably herbivorous Charles Murray at Middlebury, one of many recent such college atrocities.

My advice to Sabato and his ilk: get vomit bags. You're going to need them.
